Position Title: Hydrographer 1
DR Reed & Associates, Inc. is seeking an on-call/as-needed technician to support field data collection, station servicing, and data processing in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. This position will support hydrodynamic, water-quality, and sediment monitoring programs under the direction of the Project Technical Lead.
The ideal candidate will have experience with field and boat-based data collection, hydroacoustic instrumentation, water-quality monitoring, data QA/QC, and working in the Delta. A Bachelor of Science degree in biology, hydrology, environmental science, or a related field is preferred, although equivalent experience will also be considered.
Candidates must be willing to travel regularly to field sites throughout the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Applicants located within driving distance of the Delta are strongly preferred. Work will include a combination of field work, remote work, and on-site work in West Sacramento. This is a physically demanding position that may require working outdoors for extended periods in hot, cold, and variable conditions.

Required Skills and Attributes
- Experience working in and around the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta
- Experience supporting hydrodynamic studies
- Experience with hydroacoustic instrumentation, station servicing, troubleshooting, data collection, and data processing
- Ability to manage tasks and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
- At least 1 year of experience with a public agency, environmental consulting firm, or similar organization
- Collaborative and respectful communication style
- Ability to work effectively with diverse teams
Desired Skills and Attributes
- Bachelor of Science degree in biology, hydrology, environmental science, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Experience in operating and troubleshooting instruments used for flow, stage, water-quality, and sediment monitoring

Hourly Rate Range: $35–$45/hour, with overtime pay as applicable
Compensation: Hourly rate commensurate with experience
